hooray, fall has shown its beautiful face! we have finally emerged from our conditioned air and ventured outside. we did a little yard work and are planning on planting some bushes along the fence…should be fun.
the kids are so excited to be able to spend a lot of time outside, and they were super cute together today: eating grapes together on the steps, playing under the bush in the corner, swinging thier giraffe and dolly in the swings, playing in the sandbox, etc. some days we wonder what we’ve gotten into with 2 little ones, but days like this are very heart-warming. sure, they’re a handful even on the good days, but to see them form a friendship is so cool. Alice is finally saying Caleb’s name, so she’ll call across the house, “kay-kay? where are you?” super cute.
in other news, Infradig’s last stand (and final CD release party) is this Saturday at Rhythm-n-Brews. it is not to be missed, so I will certainly be there. also on the good music front, there will be a FREE bluegrasseque music festival downtown next month, including Norman Blake, Del McCoury and others. gotta love free. we’ll be there for some of it, I’m sure.
in family news, Michelle’s parents brand new church is having its first service this week, so please pray that it goes well. speaking of church stuff, I’ll be leading the worship service for the early service this week, so please pray that that goes well too. I have a tendency to get nervous, but I love how when pastor Cal leads us he’s very relaxed and welcoming, so I’m praying that I will be a help in leading worship.
finally, week 1 of the new job went well. it’s good to do interesting work with fun people. today I ran across an irish fiddle player and got invited to jam, so that should be fun too.
