the owners of the new house have accepted our offer! woohoo!!! our closing date is scheduled for August 31. and we’re finally allowed to let the cat out of the bag: we’re buying the LaRose’s house (near the corner of 51st and Alabama). those of you who know them, dont worry: they’re just moving down the road a little. the story of how we came to buy their house (assuming it all goes through OK) is pretty amazing. definitely God at work, since they had a short timetable. only a week from when they decided they were sellling, they accepted our offer.
of course there’s a lot to do now, not the least of which is to sell (or possibly lease) our old house. we’re doing for sale by owner (for now at least) so Michelle’s been working really hard to get people in to look at the place. we emailed our neighborhood and church email lists and got a great response, so we have had 4 people scheduled to check the place out this weekend. so we were up VERY late last night and VERY early this morning to get everything ready, and it looks awesome. thanks to all who have helped us in various and wonderful ways. we found someone to work on wild bushes and such in the yard and it’s never looked better. we had
three four sets of folks come today and it was quite a whirlwind. needless to say we’re exhausted, but we’re hoping and praying that we’ll have at least one good offer soon. so far it’s looking good.
we’ll post some pictures of the house soon (http://www.wiegersfamily.com/house). thanks to all for your prayers and well-wishes.
