Kate doesn’t listen to any real kids music other than They Might Be Giants, though she loves music of all kinds. I just can’t tolerate a lot of it *shrug* Here come the ABCs is fun, though.

I enjoyed looking up several recommendations on iTunes and, thanks to lynnp, have added “Still the Same Me” and “Here Come the ABCs” to Livia’s Christmas list.

We own one of the Disney’s Greatest Hits albums and it’s great — so much energy in the movie songs I grew up with. We also own two Cedermont sets. The music grates on me after awhile, but I like teaching all the hand motions to old VBS tunes. We also have one Veggie Tales CD — I don’t love it, but it’s kind of fun. Now if only I could find it…

Oddly enough, Livia seems to love Black Eyed Peas’ “Let’s Get it Started” best of all (but maybe that’s because her mom starts dancing like a goofball when it comes on).

Our girls have grown up listening to the Judy Rodgers CDs. They are usually simple songs that are easy for the kids to learn and usually teach a bible lesson. She has a beautiful voice and brings in a child on occaision for one song. You can order them from her website for $12-$15.

Still the Same Me by Sweet Honey in the Rock is one I enjoy. Check out stuff by Hap Palmer and see how you feel about him. No kids singing and Andy and I enjoy him, but that’s no gaurantee. I will give you a gaurantee on Ralph’s World, though. BUY IT NOW. And TMBG Here Come the ABCs is pretty great (“Go go go for G. . .) Gideon, Isaac and Josiah all love it and so do Andy and I (and Katie).

yeah that’s where I was sampling a lot of stuff, and I dont doubt that the kids would like most of it, but I’m just as sure that I’d find it annoying (based on the samples I found at least). I guess it isnt about me, but I would like to enjoy it with him rather than grow bitter against it.

You can go to christianbook.com, click on “music” and then “kids” and you will find plenty of kids’ Bible songs and stuff. We bought the “102 Bible Songs” for Zoe for Christmas this past year (it’s only $6.99 for a 3-disc set) and she absolutely loves it. It’s pretty much all she ever listens to.

We really enjoy Ralph’s World CD titled At the Bottom of the Sea . He has talented musicians and the lyrics don’t get annoying.

We bought TMBG’s DVD “Here come the ABC’s” and enjoy it.

Gideon likes to dance to The Squirrel Nut Zippers. Imagine that.

and “No” is kinda cool, but I wouldnt classify it as “kids.” more like “TMBG with less adultish themes.” still a lot of fun.

They Might Be Giants “No” and “Here Come the ABCs” are pretty good. And we will probably add some veggie tales to our collection soon.

I am looking for a CD of Kids of the Kingdom which was done by Annie Herring of Second Chapter of Acts. I still sing some of those songs to Fuller.
